VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

The HCESD 7 has established a new VFD and is seeking individuals who are willing to serve our community.  No prior experience is required.  Training will be provided.  All applicants must meet department requirements.

ESD 7 INTERIM FIRE CHIEF

Tommy Shelton, SGE

Fire Chief - Goodyear Tire Chemical Division

With over 42 years of experience in both municipal and industrial fire service, Tommy Shelton brings extensive expertise in emergency response, incident command, and safety.  He is an instructor at the annual TEEX Industrial Fire School and serves as a Special Government Employee (SGE) with OSHA, supporting safety audits and outreach.  Tommy currently holds leadership roles as President of the Sabine Neches Chiefs Association and Vice President of Hardin County Emergency Services District #7.

The ESD7 and ESD7VFD meetings have been moved to the second Thursday of each month.  Weekly training every Tuesday at Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department @ 6:30.

The Hurst Jaws of Life. We practiced stacking and unstacking boards—kind of like Jenga… but with a serious purpose. This type of hands-on training gives our firefighters valuable experience, so when they’re on a call where time and skill are critical, they’re prepared to get the job done right.

Multi-agency training was held tonight, hosted by Batson Fire Department. Landing zone training led by the HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife medical helicopter crew, giving first responders valuable hands-on instruction for helicopter operations. Acadian Ambulance Service was also on site to familiarize first responders with their ambulance equipment and operating procedures.
